AS WE WALK TOWARDS OUR FUTURE, WE ALWAYS REMEMBER THE BRAVERY OF THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE US.
Isaac Newton said it best: “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” The seed in our hearts that secures the harvest of our future, is the legacy created by our original founder, the late Mr Nkosinathi Dikwayo, whose braveheartedness paved the way for us. For this reason, our vision and values are inspired by honouring his example and leaving the same indelible mark on our world.
OUR GIVE-BACK INITIATIVES ARE GUIDED BY THE EXAMPLE OF ONE OF OUR GREATEST LEADERS
As we grow as a business, the words that light our path, are those of our very own Madiba: “It is in your hands, to make a better world for all who live in it”. As such, the year 2018 marks a notable milestone in our company’s history, because this was the year that we were able to formally adopt Senyukele Senior Secondary School in the Alfred Nzo District in the Eastern Cape, as our ongoing corporate social investment project.
With a focus on fewer initiatives but more impact, we started out by donating new laptops so the students can hone their computer skills while leveraging technology to enhance the learning journey. In addition, we have consistently been investing our time to help mentor and motivate the students. Mentorship of teenagers is scientifically proven to empower them with numerous qualities that are critical to their personal and professional development, as they progress in life.
These qualities include: resiliency; self-esteem; social responsibility; problem-solving skills; leadership and communication. We are humbly proud to state that the results of our ongoing support to these students have also become evident in their improved pass rate, which has consistently improved by an average of between 14.79% to 34.1%, year-on-year.
